Accept
what is
People misinterpret acceptance for passive, apathetic, inaction.
As if accepting the present moment means never responding.
I disagree.
To accept the contents of the present moment —
to embrace reality for what it is —
is an essential step towards generating
an effective response to the situation.
Resistance to the reality of the moment
results in a reaction based on judgment.
A reaction to how you think it’s supposed to be.
Use acceptance to generate
a response based in truth.
Apply this philosophy to the external environment
and your own internal emotional environment.
Accept your feelings and thoughts in each moment.
Internal conflict adds unnecessary tension into the situation.
Internal conflict clouds your decision making.
Align yourself with the reality of the situation.
Accept your emotional response and let it pass.
Assess the situation and determine what you can control.
Prioritize the action that will have the most impact.
And then execute that action.
Accept. Assess. Execute.
These are the steps to resolve life’s challenges.
Thank you for giving my words your time and attention.
